Subsea Installations are high integrity assemblies that require high integrity components because the integrity of the system is dependent on the integrity of the elements. If a PLET, a PLEM, a Production or Injection Manifold, or a Christmas Tree fails, the entire Production stream from the well is lost. This means a significant loss of revenue - the costs of Subsea intervention to recover and replace the module and substantial repair costs to the unit. A shutdown can mean many weeks before Production resumes.
The functionality of PLETs, PLEMs, Production and Injection Manifolds and Christmas Trees is dependent on a Valve or a series of Valves. These are the critical components that make the difference between an intervention-free Production run and the high costs of intervention coupled with the loss of Revenue.
The selection of a well-designed, - engineered and – manufactured valve is a major investment decision in a field development whose Production stream is the only source of revenue for the venture. A high integrity valve from a high reliability supplier mitigates the risk to the returns on the entire Project.
BEL Valves has a reputation as a high reliability supplier and manufacturer of High Integrity Valves, Small Bore Valves and Actuators for Subsea installations. These products meet all the main industry codes in bore sizes from ½” to 42”; pressures up to 16,500psi and water depths to 3000 metres. They are designed and manufactured to API 6A, 6D, 17D, ASME 16.34, ASME VIII and Norsok standards. They can be supplied in materials for sweet and sour service, which are suitable for a combination of High Pressures and High Temperatures, and for applications which require zero leakage to the atmosphere.
When coupled with full 3rd party approvals to API Spec Q1, ISO 9001, EC PED, EC ATEX and GOST this has enabled BEL Valves to satisfy many major projects in the UKCS, the Norwegian North Sea, West Africa, the Gulf of Mexico, Canada, the Far East, Middle East, Russia and FSU areas in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan with operators like Shell, BP, Total AGIP, Chevron and Exxon Mobil.
