Assembly & Test Redevelopment
Recent years have seen a dramatic change in how valves and actuators are built and tested within BEL Valves. In excess of £1.25 million has been spent in improving the Assembly and Test area of BEL Valves. This has been a two-stage process, which has concentrated not only on improving the working environment, but also on improving the culture and working procedures within this area. In entering into this re-development which currently is in its final stages being approximately 98% complete the following issues have been incorporated:

Safety - A new layout of test cells for the testing of both large and small valves, each with a dedicated test console with the functionality to perform virtually all tests from outside of the test cell particularly during the hydraulic functioning of valves.

Quality - A redesign of the process, procedures and general work ethics striving for continuous improvement.

Cleanliness - In addition to being an essential aspect of quality, the work environment has been designed to allow valves and actuators to be built in such a way that contamination is reduced to as great an extent that is feasibly achievable. This has resulted in the build of a positive airflow clean room for the build of actuators and controls.

The whole ethos of the aforementioned is for the Reliable supply of Perfect Product and Service, which is delivered on time, to customer requirements and to customer satisfaction. BEL Valves operates a policy of continuous improvement not just in the Assembly and Test area but in all other processes within the plant, and actively encourages proactive communication with our customers.
