Continuous Improvement

Continuous Improvement

As the saying goes “there is nothing more certain than change” and with this in mind we have an ongoing cycle of improvement to ensure we adapt to our ever changing environment.

Continuous improvement touches every aspect of what we do from initiating best practice within our manufacturing environment to managing the flow of data through the business which is why we support and drive these activities with a dedicated cross functional team.

Systems and process improvements

As technology advances so the tools we have available to manage the business become even more powerful. Utilising a shared platform development we have created systems to enable the capture and management of our interactions with our customers to enable us to provide a better service. These include communications, customer feedback, project tracking and after market reporting.

Operational Continuous Improvement

As the business grows, we see more investment in tools, skills and machinery, but these need to be carefully integrated into the business. A large part of the continuous improvement process is to ensure that we make the most of these investments.

We have implemented measures which draw from ‘Lean’ methodology within a manufacturing environment, eliminating waste, increasing efficiency and concentrating on the value add for our customers.

Scheduling

In the form of a data transfer from the business system, APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) uses planned manufacturing data and material availability data, and applies it to a model of the manufacturing environment which mirror’s resource availability, shift patterns and resource performance factors.

APS schedules the manufacturing data to give a plan that prioritises which component operations should be worked upon, in which order and on which resource to achieve the business needs.
