Another successful OPITO Event

On 21st March 2012 BEL Valves was represented again at OPITO’s Energise Your Future. The event was aimed at getting children and young adults (ages ranging from 13 to around 21) interested and informed about career opportunities in the oil and gas industry.

The day was split into two sessions: a daytime session where multiple schools attended bringing pupils aged from 13 to 17; and an evening session where anybody either from a school that did not attend, or from college/university could come and discover the career opportunities in the industry.

Joining BEL Valves were a number of other companies from the industry, such as NOF Energy, TDR, Statoil UK, Total; as well as Northumberland College and Northumbria University.

The day got pupils involved in different activities with each company; ranging from oil and gas specific activities, to general problem solving, to companies demonstrating the jobs they carry out within the industry.

The day was a huge success with over 600 pupils attending during the daytime session and a further 100 visitors in the evening.
